About Us

Roscoe's Legacy

Roscoe came to live with us when he was a baby, having been born to a pregnant rescued pig at another sanctuary in 2017. We spent a lot of time volunteering there, and were the ones who gave this sweet piglet his name!

Roscoe had a harder start to life; he was the runt in his litter (with 7 siblings), and developed a hernia at only a couple of weeks old. He needed surgery to repair the hernia, and needed a safe place to land afterwards.

Roscoe was the 3rd pig to join our family

Roscoe came home to us in the summer of 2017, and formed a strong bond to our first pig, Diasy Mae.  He helped her navigate the house and backyard, as she is blind.  He also helped Daisy get her exercise, as he loved to play and pull shenanigans.  Roscoe loved to give mom (Kris) kisses, loved stealing fresh garlic and onions from the garden, and loved showing off his tricks, like sit and spin.

In 2021, we started thinking about moving to a larger property, where Roscoe could have more space for his big adventures, and where all of our pigs could have their own rooms and outdoor space to live their happiest lives.

Roscoe became ill that year, and we lost him to kidney failure.  He was just shy of his 4th birthday, and while he left a massive hole in our hearts, he inspired us to create Roscoe's Rescue.
